About

Simon Thorne is a historical fiction author known for his richly layered narratives that span continents and centuries.

With a background in technology, science, history and a passion for storytelling, Thorne weaves tales of love, ambition, and resilience against the backdrop of pivotal moments in world history. His seven-book series, “Portion of Divinity,” explores the rise and fall of dynasties through the eyes of unforgettable characters.
• Education: Economics, Mathematics and Business Administration
• Passions: Travel, ancient manuscripts, classical music, chess, and hockey
• Influences: Karl Popper, Matt Ridley, Thomas Cahill, and Graham Hancock
• Writing Style: Lyrical prose, immersive world-building, morally complicated characters

And then, of course, is the series.  Portion of Divinity is the culmination of more than 30 years of criss-crossing the globe and gathering stories from indigenous cultures.  And given the scope of the source material and the vast intrigues that never make it into official history books, there was only one character with enough deductive power to help solve the mysteries of our origin.
